Vox Nova ("New Voice") is FCC's newest music ensemble. It consists of professional singers and voice majors from OSU: Zac Engle, Steven Eslick, Alyson Friesen, Megan Kite, David Hughes, Lindsey Jech, Sarah Moyer, Rebecca Perry, Jayson Riepe, David Stipe, & Kristin Tapscott.
The ensemble specializes in early sacred music – music written for the church
before about 1750. Vox Nova will always sing with one singer per part; therefore
each performance will feature a different combination of singers. The group aims
to sing at the 9:00 service every other Sunday, starting Sept. 16, 2007, with
Miserere mei, Deus, (Latin Psalm 50/51) by Gregorio Allegri (1582-1652),
written for the Tenebrae services of Holy Week.
